Red Flag Laws are the new wedge that gun control advocates are trying to drive into our country. Ever since the Supreme Court handed down the Bruen decision, we've seen a tremendous number of legal wins in the area of gun freedom and a lot of existing gun control laws being struck down. Gun control organizations have shifted their focus to Red Flag Laws since they are a newer strategy, have a catchy name, and can be spun as a sensible compromise that mainstream Republicans can get behind. The 750 million dollars the Federal Government has started handing out to states that pass them doesn't hurt the Red Flag pitch, either.

That's why the pressure is on to force Tennessee to adopt some kind of pre-emptive confiscation bill this month when the Governor calls a special session for that very purpose. If Red Flag fans can convince the Republican supermajority of one of the most conservative states in the US to pass a law that preemptively disarms citizens without the due process of law, they will have accomplished a significant political victory, and you will see them pushing this agenda in a lot more states next year.

You can watch our YouTube video to learn more about Red Flag Laws—what they are, why they don't work, and what they ultimately do to destroy human rights and civil liberties. You can also listen to our most recent podcast episode that goes into more detail about the current situation in Tennessee.

Emails from you T.REX readers were impactful in preventing the passage of a Red Flag Law during our regular session a few months ago, and we cannot thank you enough for your participation and support. We likely didn't match the volume of the form letters from the Bloomberg bots, but your thoughtful, personal messages did make a big difference.

There are three things you can do to help us move the needle in the next few weeks:

First, write to the Governor of Tennessee using this form, and let him know that you are opposed to these unconstitutional gun confiscations.

Second, email key members of the House. You can either use this link to email them or copy and paste the list of email addresses below:

You can find a list of good talking points for this issue in a newsletter we sent to our fellow Tennesseeans last week HERE.

We will keep you posted on how things are going here in Tennessee and continue our research of Red Flag Laws. Because no matter what happens in Tennessee, we are sure the Red Flag debate will continue.
